Ján Ťapák

Academic sculptor Ján Ťapák was born on 27. December 1962 in Bratislava.

1978-1982 he studied woodcarving on SUPŠ Bratislava with Prof. L. Karkoš and Prof. J. Šicka.

1983-1989 He studied Sculpturing at VŠVU with prof. L. Snopek and Prof. J. Kulich.

On his own he exhibited in Bratislava, Dolný Kubín, Košice, Kolín nad Rýnom, Levoča, Poprad, Linza, Trnava, Budapešť, Trenčín, Piešťany, Púchov, Kežmarok.

He attended team wise exhibitions as well: Bratislava, Martin, Viedeň, St. Poltene, Trenčín, Linz, Olomouc, Praha, Bresca. He also attended sculpture symposium in Austrica, Germany and Italy.

Realisations: SND-scéna k baletu I. Stravinský- Svätenie jari; Hotel Devín Bratislava ; Expo 2000 Hanover; Hotel Marrol´s Bratislava; Hotel Crowne Plaza Bratislava. Tulip House Hotel Bratislava, Double Tree Hilton Košice, Grand Hotel Kempinski Vysoké Tatry, socha Slovensko srdce Európy pre OSN, Nairobi- Kenya.

Creative scholarships Mikuláš Galanda, creative scholarship SFVU. In 2004 he was rewarded scholarship Pollock- Krasner foundation.
