Ján Moravčík

The painterly pathos in the work of Ján Moravčík is marked by an epic-lyrical presentation. His works speak for themselves. To feel in them the depth of philosophical, meditative presentation. The empire of ancient cultures and the present intertwine in the author’s work. The perception of space-time pushes him to mythological to mysterious boundaries.

Daimonion’s inner voice leads him in the subconscious to hidden, perhaps even unknown, meaningful statements. The author’s works reveal his emotional artistic ambitions and interpretation. It can be said that in the artefacts he re-narrates Ovid’s “Metamorphoses”, and plots events about the past as well as the present human being. He consciously solves relationship situations, moments from everyday life situations in his works. We will reveal the testimony of the painter Ján Moravčík in his narrative artefacts.

I can state that in the author’s compositions I find a great sense of detail, cultivated coloring passing into monochrome contemplation and distribution of the image area to the graphic raster, which amplifies the author’s statement of the motif. The author likes to use decorative patterns close to the Art Nouveau and Art Deco style, which he complements with gold or silver in the surfaces and details. The motivic composition of his work is diverse – figural themes, zoomorphic themes but also environmental issues.

Ján Moravčík ceramicist, painter and graphic designer was born in 1983 in Partizánské. From childhood, he grew up close to fine art, which he later studied at the Private School of Applied Art in Topoľčany. In the field of ceramics, he acquired artistic skill and knowledge under the guidance of teachers Ivan Gálus, Blanka Žatková, Jaroslav Halm and also the important Slovak painter Emil Fulka.

To date, the author has exhibited at several group exhibitions. In 2015, he participated in a worldwide art competition called Mixed Media Competition. The author lives and works in Bošany.
