Jan Svoboda
He was born in 1957 in Nové Město na Moravě. He studied on structural faculty VUT Brno, where in 1981 he ended his studies. He then from 1982-1990 worked in projection institutes in Brno. From 1990-present he works as an artist. He is married and has 3 adult children.
He has been creating art since 80s and is working full time on his art from 1990.
Main field is painting (oil on canvas) occasionally he does sculptures, drawings and furniture solitaire. Painting motives were for years figures, objects and symbols perceived in glance, archetypal and with humour.
Around 2010 there was a retreat from specific objects to geometry shapes,lines,points and curves. He still continues in this level of elementary projection. Jan Svoboda has no art education and is nowhere organised.
To his credit he has more than 130 solo exhibitions and several common (especially with Rostislav Pospíšil , Henry Štreit or with her son Ondřej Svoboda)
He lives and works in Českomoravská Vysočina, Radňovice.
