The first day of autumn. A late afternoon, warm sunlight, and the setting of the manor in Čereňany felt like something out of a fairytale.
In this atmosphere, I found myself there with my wife—and it simply felt right.
Yet, one essential element completed the scene: a person. The artist for whom the entire event had been prepared.
Atelier Hlavina organized the opening of the exhibition “Planes” by artist Hieroným Balko.
The artist himself welcomed us with kind and witty words—something I later realized comes naturally to him. He gently drew us into an exhibition space filled with paintings, assemblages, and sculptures, where we gradually began to understand not only his way of thinking, but also his playful spirit and creative inventiveness.
It is clear that he observes the world with an open mind—and an open soul.
I even had the opportunity to meet him personally, thanks to the organizer, curator, and owner of Atelier Hlavina, Viera Žáková.
A very pleasant encounter.

Thank you for a wonderfully spent first autumn evening, dear Viera.
The perfect balance of pleasure and enrichment was once again achieved—beautiful surroundings, a meaningful artistic experience, generous hospitality, and the subtle accompaniment of a string quartet created a truly memorable atmosphere.
Your dedication to the gallery is becoming increasingly significant, shaping an important presence within our cultural landscape.
