Tatiana Siedlová
She was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 1998, she completed her university education and continued her education with the well-known Ukrainian academic painter prof. Petar Alekseevich Zikunov. Already during her studies, she attended many exhibitions throughout Ukraine. She has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2011, then moved to Slovakia, where she lives and works until now. As a volunteer, she taught painting at a secondary school in Nitra and led a painting course in Prievidza at the art agency Muzikum-Libitum.
Since 2012, he has repeatedly organized exhibitions of Ukrainian artists in the Association of Artists of Slovakia in Bratislava. In 2013, she organized an exhibition of young Ukrainian artists on radio and television RTVS (Bratislava). Since 2012, she has been a member of the Union of Visual Artists of Slovakia. Since 2011, she has repeatedly represented Slovakia at various international competitions and exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, France, England and Slovakia itself. She represented the Slovak Republic abroad several times at the Premio Citta di Porto Sant Elpidio international fine arts competition in Italy. She also participated in the prestigious international competition Perla dell’ Adriatico also in Italy. Her works can be found in public and private collections, e.g. in Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, the USA and Australia.
Like most artists, Tatiana Siedlova first had to go through the path of research, experimentation and filtration before she discovered her own artistic expression and became a mature artist with a clearly defined painting vision. She believes in the power of individuality, yet respects the craft and art of the old masters. Rembrandt (especially his late work), Caravaggio, Goya and Russian artists such as Repin or Kramskoi. From this comes the fascination with the technique of painting, which is unique in the current Slovak art scene. Tatiana Siedlová masters this classical technique really brilliantly. Like the old masters, he puts one glaze layer on top of another to achieve a specific, new color. The refraction of light subsequently intensifies the impression of depth, transparency and plasticity. This technique requires a high degree of discipline, diligence and patience.
Her works shine with the luster of the old world not only because of the classical technique, but also because of the motifs she processes. Allegories, metaphors, modern retellings of ancient stories always have a bit of romantic drama and scenic art in them. The artist deals with representative representation, through which she processes the issue of the relationship of individuals to themselves, to each other and to society. In this way, the painter connects the visually perceptible world with the supernatural or fictional world. In terms of style, her work can be classified as realistic artists with a sense of perception of abstract poetics and symbolism.
