Igor Cvacho

Igor Cvacho comes from Žilina. He is a respected painter, graphic artist, illustrator and designer.
He graduated from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (1980-85) and studied two-year graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (1986-87).
He regularly exhibits and participates in various international exhibitions and events.Selection of solo exhibitions (over 60 in total): Prague (2018), Rome (2018), Vienna (2017), Moscow (2017), Ottawa (2012), Shanghai (2010), Warsaw (2009), Helsinki (2007), Larnaca (2003), Brussels (2001).
He has a rich participation in international art symposia and creative stays in various countries around the world.
In Slovakia, he had large profile exhibitions in state galleries in Žilina, Nitra, Trenčín, and he also exhibited several times independently in Bratislava. In 2016, he had a large exhibition in the Hall of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
Igor Cvacho moves freely between figural and abstract painting, graphic techniques, classical and purely contemporary ones, as well as music and poetry. His work cannot be separated from his personality in any of his positions. He is a thinking author and only philosophically constantly analyzes the world around him. His older work tended to a purely abstract position, in recent years he has gone from what he called it “dynamic abstraction” to a fascination with figurative motifs. or horses … Another common theme is the theme of the world of music, which stems from his experience as a musician and songwriter. There is a strong “storytelling” in the current creation of paintings, when the author combines in his feelings the epic of content with lyricism in speech, both in his works, both abstract and more realistic.
He is a creator and publisher of book editions in limited editions. He cooperatedwith important artists such as K.Kryl, J.Suchý, J.Satnský, V.Merta, M.Geišberg, Ľ.Feldek, J.Lenčo … He created a memorial plaque to the songwriter K.Kryl (2008).His works and profile have been published in many domestic and foreign publicationsand are represented in gallery and private collections at home and abroad. His extensive book monograph (2012) was also published.He has received several awards for his work.
