Šimon Majlát
… I am attracted in creating „nice things“.
I was born on April 29, 1992 in Zlaté Moravce and I graduated from the Constructor at the University of Žilina. I do not consider myself an artist in a pure sense, but I am attracted in creating „nice things“. I find joy in creating objects behind which there is a certain challenge. Since my childhood, I have been under the layer of sawdust from home creation of wooden bows, swords , boats and sculptures. I was impressed by the cold historical, brightly decorated weapons such as crossbows and so on. During my university studies I came to the design of machines, mechanisms and contructions and I realised, that even in this segment imagination and fantasy are key elements. I am having fun, when I have opportunity to design an interesting mechanism, as I am having fun in the workshop, when I am grinding wooden hemisphere for hours. Therefore, my idea was to combine „mechanical“ design with „artistic“, incorporating precise design and manufacture into production of „pretty things“.
